I am Haridas Roy. I am eternally grateful  for being promoted to the position of Advisor to the Progati Sheba Foundation. Progati Sheba Foundation aims to establish permanent and sustainable public institutions led by women and managed by them in a patriarchal society with the aim of empowering women. It has been possible to establish a sustainable public institution by organizing the underprivileged poor people (women). The management committee, led by women, continues to manage the activities of the public institution, including savings and credit activities managed by them. Where women are making 100% of the decisions are striving for their rights and development, and women’s leadership has begun to develop.Every public institution/forum has been registered by the Department of Cooperatives. Every center has become financially viable. Members take loans from the forum ranging from 20,000/= to 3,00,000/= taka for their own needs and distribute dividends on the members’ savings at the end of the year. They meet the forum’s regular expenses from their own income. The integrated poverty alleviation program run by Progati Sheba Foundation has changed the fate of poor families covered by each center. I hope that Progati Sheba Foundation plays a direct and indirect role in institutional development as well as improving the quality of life of the people in the area, empowering women, establishing social peace, and combating climate change.
